I’m so bummed that I didn’t get any bras at the VS outlet.
Last summer, there were at least 10 bins full of 38C bras and I found 4 bras for around $13 a piece. Tonight, I had to ask a lady where my size was. She led me to one of their employee’s only doors and told me to wait a moment. I stood around by the door, arbitrarily checking out the fragrances near me for a few minutes. Finally she came back with a giant cardboard box, set it on the floor, smiled at me very big, and said, “Here, 38C!”
I asked her if she wanted to put them anywhere, maybe restock something, because I was very confused. She told me no, that they didn’t put out the 38C bras anymore.
Now, on one hand, I can understand. If a certain product isn’t selling as well, it makes sense to not waste floorspace that could hold products that do sell well. But on the other hand, as I began digging through this cardboard box of bras in the fragrance section, it was incredibly humiliating. Aside from the 38DD strictly neutral or white bras they’d had sitting out, there were no bras above a 36 band size. People walked wide around me and I could feel them staring. And then the ones that I found and tried on were all too small, and I haven’t gained any weight since I’d been there last summer.
I can’t believe that a brand as expensive as Victoria’s Secret, even in an outlet, thought that this kind of treatment was fair or kind to its patrons. If I’d been as strong as my mama, I’d have marched straight to the nearest manager and given her an earful. Instead, I bought my roommate’s birthday present (75% off a deluxe perfume set!) and walked out of the store promising myself I’d never come back.
Does anyone know of a great place for cute, everyday bras for a girl who wears anywhere from a 38C to a 40D?
