Oh, you only have basic tees available in my size in a variety of dull colors?
That’s ok, I’ll make it fabulous with accessories. :)
I’m not actually in a bad mood, I’m just irritated to death of plus size shopping. Because clothes are either made badly, not stocked in your size, cost a fortune, or are all in the color scheme of black, grey, and more black, because no fucking body has told these people that dark, drab clothes…
QFT. Oh, and if you’re a size 28/30, you can forget about Faith 21 and about Torrid* because they don’t carry things that fit you either. Hell, Lane Bryant doesn’t carry things that fit you. It’s shop online or go naked, and that is infuriating as hell.
Even when you do find clothes that fit, they’re like the size 18/20 clothes but in even worse color and fit choices, at three times the price of straight sizes, with the added joy of paying return shipping for all the crap that doesn’t fit. I would kill to have one-tenth the clothing selection of a woman who’s size 12.
When you see fat women walking around in horrible, misshapen rags, it’s not because fat people don’t have style. It’s because unless they dedicate their lives to finding the clothing that smaller women can just go to the mall and buy, they don’t have any choice.
*I have better luck with Torrid online. Sometimes.

That italics section is my fucking life.
So I had missed my chance to get The Red Queen and caved in and bought my second choice, Ursula. This is one of the limited edition Disney Villains: Designer Collection dolls. I got # 7639/13,000 of the Ursula doll so it’s not the greatest one but I love it. Ended up spending the $100 on it.
Wow.

The stomacher, a V-shaped triangular panel, wore on the front of a woman’s open gown in the 18th century. To keep the bosom from standing out, the stomacher was extravagantly adorned with embroidery, laces, rows of ribbon bows called “échelle” (ladder) and sometimes with jewels. Since a stomacher needed to be pinned to the dress each time it was worn, this style was time-consuming.

Photosets like these just make me want to cry. How do I fatshion??

GQ must assume their readers can’t pay attention to anything unless there’s naked ladies frolicking about.
